Arrest made in sucker-punch incident involving Eagles' Dallas Goedert

Police have arrested a man for simple assault in connection to a bar brawl that involved Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert, as first reported by NJ.com.

Over the weekend, a patron sucker punched Goedert in a South Dakota bar. A security video appears to show the NFL player being blindsided with a punch to the face by a man.

Aberdeen Police (South Dakota) arrested Kyle Douglas Hadala, 29, a resident of Sarasota, Florida, for the alleged assault. The incident did not cause serious bodily harm to Goedert, so the charge was considered simple assault, according to Brown County State Attorney office.

Goedert was transported to nearby Avera St. Lukes Hospital, where he was treated and released, according to the report.

Goedert is entering his third season with the Eagles. He’s a native of Britton, South Dakota, which is about an hour from Aberdeen. He played his college ball at South Dakota State, where he was a two-time FCS All-America First Team member.

Goedert caught 58 passes for 607 yards and five touchdowns for the Eagles in 2019.
