Here's what's new on Stan, Netflix Australia and Foxtel in October

Every month Stan, Netflix Australia, and Foxtel add a range of new content to their streaming services, so we’ve picked a few highlights for August.

Patrick Dempsey (or McDreamy from TV series Grey's Anatomy as he's sometimes better known) stars in Stan's new series The Truth About The Harry Quebert Affair.

He's in the lead as Harry Quebert, a literary icon who suddenly finds himself indicted for murder after the body of a young girl is mysteriously found buried on his property.

For fans of indie-filmmaker Kevin Smith, Stan will release a collection of his best films -- Clerks, Chasing Amy, Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back -- all on October 6.

The Good Place is Netflix Australia's latest original series. It's a fantasty-comedy dystopian mashup which sounds messy but actually hits the mark thanks to strong performances from stars Ted Danson and Kristen Bell.

Foxtel's Mr Inbetween is an Australian black comedy-drama series similar in plot to the 2014 movie The Equaliser. Newcomer Scott Ryan stars in the lead as Ray Shoesmith, an everyday "hero" who sets out to made the world a better place, one violent act at a time.
