Aldi’s special buys for Saturday 22 February are a bargain that cannot missed.
This weekend, the German supermarket giant is flogging a multifunction weight bench for just $199 - something that would usually cost around almost $1,000.
The weight bench features multiple stations for upper and lower body exercises, and includes a V-handle attachment for abdominal exercises, Aldi states.
If you’re keen to pick one up, Aldi advises you bring a friend to help you carry it out the store.
If you don’t need a weight bench, there are plenty of other accessories on offer to help you get fit, like a skipping rope for $3.99, an ab wheel for $3.99 and a 10kg dumbbell set for $19.99.
The middle aisles will also be stocked with women’s leggings, which have received rave reviews from members of the Aldi Mums Facebook group.
“Leggings are great,” one member said. “I have a couple of them and they are good quality and they hold you tight.
“Had the tights over a year now. Pretty happy,” another said.
The women’s fitness tights are priced between $12.99 and $14.99 - a fraction of the price of tights at Lorna Jane and Lulu Lemon.
If Aldi’s checkout speed is too quick
If you’re struggling to keep up with Aldi’s checkout speed, Aldi has revealed a hot tip for shoppers: just ask your checkout assistant to slow down.
“Some time ago ALDI discovered that by placing more and bigger barcodes on their products they could speed up transaction times and improve the customer experience,” the company stated.
“That said, while the retailer is relentless in its pursuit of efficiency, ALDI is not in the business of rewarding speedy scanners. Rather, staff are encouraged to adjust their scan speed according to how quickly—or otherwise—a customer is packing.”
And if you miss a Special Buy...
If you’re a frequent Aldi shopper, you would know the middle aisles tend to sell out quickly. But, if you’ve missed out, don’t sweat it.
The savvy Aldi Mums never miss a beat, because they know exactly which products are coming and when.
“They happen at the same time each year,” one member wrote. “Happens like clockwork, every year…” another said.
Yahoo Finance confirmed with Aldi that the Special Buys do in fact repeat at the same or a similar time each year.
“Aldi Special Buys are planned many months in advance and are based around seasonality, trends and occasions, for example, Mother’s Day,” an Aldi spokesperson said.
