During a cost-of-living crisis, spending much-needed money on a getaway is not at the top of everyone's priority list, but there are still some options for those who need some time away.

And despite rising costs, two in three Aussies are planning to travel domestically in 2023, with almost 70 per cent revealing they’re planning a holiday of five nights or more, according to a new survey from Scoopon.

So, how can travellers get the most bang for their buck?

Scoopon senior manager of lifestyle brands Mark Ehlers said there was strong demand for deals on accommodation and experiences.

“While travel is a priority for many Australians in 2023, the reality is that many of us are looking for clever ways to make our money go further and being savvy about how we maximise an investment in travel and holiday time,” Ehlers said.

“The easiest way to do this is to look for trusted deal providers who can bundle your holiday so you can still treat yourself to all the extras without the extra price tag.

“Package-style holidays remove the element of surprise so that when you set off for your trip, you’ve got that peace of mind that what you’ve budgeted for is what you will spend.”
