An Oscar nomination doesn’t just give you the chance to win one of the most prestigious awards in Hollywood - it means you’ll get treated to a plethora of goodies worth US$225,000 (AU$336,900).

Nominees will be gifted 80 items, and among them is a 12-day cruise worth US$78,000, US$20,000 worth of facial rejuvenation treatments and US$20,000 in personal matchmaking services.

The gift bags have been put together by Distinctive Assets founder Lash Fary, who told Reuters they are “an acknowledgement of an amazing performance that they put in”.

According to Fary, it’s also the highest value gift bag ever put together - but it only goes to the top acting and directing nominees.

Just 25 people will receive the gift bags, and they will be delivered directly to them during the week leading up to the Oscars.

“You’re never too rich or famous to outgrow gratitude,” Fary said.

And there’s good business behind it too

While Fary said the gift bags are about rewarding great performers, they’re also a good business model.

“This is a business endeavour,” he said.

“This is about the promotion. This is about products connecting their services and their wares with the biggest trendsetters in the world.”
