2-year-old loves this 32-year-old sad love song from the ’90s

·1-min read

Music is timeless. No matter how old a good song is, whether it’s your first or millionth time hearing it, it has the power to move us.

TikTok mom @juliewise4 posted a sweet video of her son Jay. She explained that when he turned 2 years old, his favorite song was “Nothing Compares 2 U” by Sinead O’ Connor.

The melancholy song about unrequited love, originally written and composed by the artist Prince, was covered by the Irish singer in 1990. The song peaked at #1 around the world in the ‘90s and clearly is still gaining new fans every day.

Jay lip-synced his heart out, using a wooden stick as a pretend microphone, to the classic song. It was like he could really feel the emotion behind the music.

TikTokers felt like the little guy was wise beyond his years.

“He has an old soul in a baby body. he is so precious,” a person commented.

“Hahaha my teen life just came immediately back,” another wrote.

“He’s a whole vibe! And he’s got the emotion of those lyrics down!” someone added.

“But how spot on his lip syncing skills are!” a user said.

“My brother used to love this song when he was a toddler too and would cry,” a TikToker replied.
