Why Nvidia Stock Dropped on Friday

Shareholders of Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) lost ground to the market on Friday as the stock fell 4% by 11 a.m. ET compared to a 1% drop in the S&P 500. The decline was tied to a wider drop among tech stocks, but also reflects fears about some bad news on the way in the company's upcoming earnings report. Investors are also worried that the chip giant will issue a weaker outlook when it announces earnings results on the afternoon of Wednesday, Aug. 24.
