Ferrari's core earnings rose 13% in the first quarter helped by sales of models such as the 2 million-euro ($2.2 million) Daytona SP3 limited-series luxury car and a greater contribution from personalised vehicles. Shares at the luxury sportscar maker, however, fell on Tuesday as Ferrari confirmed its full-year forecasts, failing to excite investors despite what its CEO Benedetto Vigna called a "very positive" start to the year. The result was also helped by strong pricing power and product and country mix, and Vigna said the Italian company had produced double-digit growth for both revenue and profits despite stable car deliveries.
Apple (AAPL) shares are trading higher after the tech giant is reportedly joining the artificial intelligence chip race. Yahoo Finance's Madison Mills reports more on the story and why this could be good news for investors. Mills points out the changing landscape Apple faces as iPhone sales continue to slump. "Apple can't rely on the iPhone that much longer," she explains, adding that chip development gives investors a more hopeful outlook on the tech giant's future. Competitors like Meta (META) and Microsoft (MSFT) already use their own chips to fuel artificial intelligence initiatives in their data centers. While Apple may be viewed as late to the game on this front, Mills stresses that its new chip development could bolster the company as a serious competitor to major chip makers like Nvidia (NVDA). The move in Sweden was a reminder that dollar is likely to remain strong as long as other central banks cut rates before the U.S. Federal Reserve.
