Virgin Black Friday airfare sale: 500,000 discounted tickets available

Good news for Aussies dreaming of travelling in the new year, with Virgin Australia releasing half a million fares on sale on the eve of the Black Friday sales. Flights start from as little as $55 one way to popular destinations including Bali, the Gold Coast and Queenstown in New Zealand.

The fares are already on sale now at Virgin Australia and will be available until next Tuesday, November 29 or until stock runs out.

All fares are for travel from January to June 2023. Some of the destination highlights and bargains include

• Sydney to Byron Bay from $55 one way

• Melbourne to Launceston from $69 one way

• Brisbane to Whitsundays from $79 one way

• Adelaide to Melbourne from $89

• Sydney to Hamilton Island from $135 one way

The sale includes flights to overseas destinations too with airfares such as

• Sydney to Queenstown from $319

• Melbourne to Vanuatu from $539

• Gold Coast to Bali from $429

The flight sales will be a bonus for Australians who have borne the brunt of airfare price increases over the past two years, with an ACCC report finding that fares had hit the highest point in April 2022 as well as flights being overbooked, overcrowded and frequently cancelled.

Virgin velocity members can also use part or all of their points to pay for the discounted flights.
