Target set to report earnings ahead of Wednesday's opening

Yahoo Finance Live anchor Dave Briggs looks at Target's stock ahead of its earnings report due out tomorrow.

Video transcript

- All right. My stock to watch for Wednesday is another retail bellwether. Target. The retailer reports Q2 earnings tomorrow on the heels of Walmart topping expectations. Target announced prior it expects to take additional markdowns to remove those mountains of excess inventory we've heard so much about. The consensus estimate EPS are for $0.79 and revenue of $26 billion. Over the last two years, Target has topped expectations 88% of the time. Now, Target shares up about 4 and 1/2% on this day. Down 30%, though, over the last 12 months.
