Taco Bell brings back its Mexican pizza to menus nationwide

Yahoo Finance's Allie Canal joins the Live show to taste-test Taco Bell's revival of the Mexican pizza.

- I've been waiting for this day for two long, excruciating years. Taco Bell's Mexican pizza is finally back, back on menus today. So of course, we had to get some on set. Allie Canal is a huge Mexican pizza devotee. I assume you're one of the nearly 200,000 that signed the Change.org petition that brought it back.

ALLIE CANAL: You know, I wish I was, but I got to be honest with you, I've never had this Mexican pizza. And that shocks me, because I'm a big Mexican fan. I love Taco Bell. I think I immediately go towards the, like, dollar burritos. But yeah, 200,000 signatures. This is the Mexican pizza. I got the classic.

ALLIE CANAL: Just your beef, your cheese, some beans. And this kind of debuted to a lot of fanfare. We have a musical coming out, literally about the Mexican pizza.

- Yours looks a lot more appetizing than mine--

- Does your-- all right.

- --but I don't think it matters.

- There is--

- The presentation really matters in this.

ALLIE CANAL: Oh, it's good.

- It's good?

- Oh yeah. Yeah, it's really good. Now I get why you--

- Easy.

- --that-- why you were such a fan.

- Oh, yeah.

- All right, I'm getting in. I would prefer these crispy shells, but I assume because we had to bring them here to the studio, they're a little soggy.

ALLIE CANAL: Yeah, it's about 45 minutes it's been sitting here.

- So very good. It's very, very good.

- As someone who loves pizza, I wasn't sure that I would like a Taco Bell pizza. You guys are making it look good. Now, I see, Allie, so you've got something different from the others. So what did everybody get, so I know what to try?

ALLIE CANAL: I actually all got the same one.

- Hers is the fanciest.

ALLIE CANAL: Mine, I guess, looks the best. But you know what? I got-- I love the amount of cheese. I'm a big cheese girl.

- Yeah.

ALLIE CANAL: And they didn't skimp on the cheese, which I appreciate.

- We got a food stylist, right? I will say, thumbs up. I would score about a 7.5, 8. I mean, as far as a Taco Bell scale, I think it's pretty good.

- And imagine if it was fresh also, if it was a little bit crispier and warmer. It's a little cold right now.

ALLIE CANAL: Yeah, you know what? That's my fault, guys. Let's not blame Taco Bell for the warmth level, but I agree. 8 out of 10.
