Stocks moving in after hours: AMC, APE shares, Meta, Kimco Realty

Yahoo Finance Live's Seana Smith checks out several trending stocks in the after-hours trading session.

Video transcript

SEANA SMITH: All right, Rachelle, let's take a look at some of the top trending stocks here of the day. We have AMC, Ape shares, Meta, and PIMCO. Let's kick it off with AMC and move lower here, closing off just around 14 and 1/2% today. The big news, disclosing a deal to sell up to $1.4 billion worth of Ape shares. That equates to about 425 million shares. Now they're doing this in order to pay down debt. We saw the reaction in Ape shares today, closing off just around nearly 6%.

Let's take a look at AMC, though, because that stock has been under pressure here as of late. A one-month chart, you can see it off just around 25%. In the past three months, off 45%. Ape started trading on August 22, so not too long ago. Taking a look at the one-month chart there of Ape, you can see it off just around 48%.

All right, let's take a look at Meta, again, closing lower once again, hitting a new 52-week low, as we have seen a lot of the larger tech names come under pressure because of rising rates. Over the past month, Meta closing off just around 15% in the last year. Let's take a look at that chart because just about a year ago, on September 27 of 2021, we had Meta at a 52-week high of 355.15. Here we are, a year later. Meta shares closing off just around $136.37 a share, off 61% over the past year, a drop today of nearly 3%.

And rounding it out with PIMCO, another mover here that we wanted to bring up because of the weakness that we saw today. In an intraday basis, the stock closing off just around 4%, hitting a new 52-week low. It was the worst performer, one of the worst performers in the S&P today, again, being dragged lower, along with some of the broader real estate plays, this being a replay here. In the past month, PIMCO Realty off just around 16%. Year to date, the stock off 26%. So, again, closing today, off just over 4%, one of the worst performers in the S&P, closing at $18.04.
