BRIAN CHEUNG: Welcome back to Yahoo Finance Live. Let's keep a check on some trending tickers on this Thursday afternoon. I want to call to attention the New York Times, which is up about 10%, actually 11% right now. You saw the jump in the middle of the day.

That's after reports that activist investor ValueAct Capital Management is taking on a 7% stake in the newspaper. They want the company to improve subscriber-only products, some interesting activist activity happening on that front.

Also check out fuboTV, up 13%. That's after they announced a partnership to put Sports Grid on its offering. Sports Grid is a 24-hour streaming network that's geared towards sports bettors. And also keep in mind that over the week, there's been a lot of action in this stock because Ryan Reynolds put in a partnership on a content deal in exchange for equity in this company.

And of course, let's keep a check on the meme stocks. AMC Entertainment up 7 and 1/2%. Why? I don't know. But let's also take a look at GameStop, down 1.25%. Also don't really know why, but meme stocks always doing whatever they're going to do.
