How spicy is Arby's new 'Diablo Dare' sandwich?

Yahoo Finance's Allie Canal tries Arby's new 'Diablo Dare' sandwich, which the fast-food chain says is the spiciest on the market.

ADAM SHAPIRO: Let's shift gears. Because yesterday, you hit a home run. And it was the first time you ever gave anything you've ever tasted a five out of five, the KFC Beyond Meat nuggets. Let's go to Arby's new spicy chicken sandwich. We really want your job too, by the way. You get all the best stuff.

ALLIE CANAL: Adam, it's 2022. I'm trying to lose some pandemic pounds. So it's not all glamorous because this is not happening with all these taste tests. But yes. if you can't quite stomach the Golden Globes anymore, maybe you can stomach this. We have Arby's new Diablo Dare sandwiches. They come in two different options. This is 13 hour smoked brisket. And I also have a crispy chicken sandwich option.

Now Arby's says this is the spiciest sandwich on the market. And I might just believe them considering the ingredients. We have ghost pepper jack cheese, fiery hot seasoning, fire roasted jalapenos, diablo barbecue sauce. It's served on a toasted red chipotle bun. And it comes with a free vanilla milkshake. Yes, apparently, the sandwich is so spicy that you need a milkshake to help wash it down. So we'll see. Yesterday, I tried the KFC Beyond Meat chicken nuggets and I choked on air. Will I choke this time around? Let's see.

I'm going to try the chicken sandwich first. It is spicy. But I'm handling it. All right. All right. It's spicy. It is.

ADAM SHAPIRO: You're supposed to eat bread. You're not supposed to drink or else it gets the spice all over your mouth.

ALLIE CANAL: Apparently the vanilla milkshake is good. All right, I'm going to try this to be fair. This is the smoked brisket version. OK. I do think the chicken is spicier than the brisket. But the spiciest sandwich on the market? I'm not quite sure. They're trying to appeal to those customers that really want a ton of spice. It definitely is spicy. But I'm getting through it. I'm handling it. So I would probably give this a 3.5, not terrible, not my favorite sandwich in the world. But if you're a spice enthusiast, I'd encourage you to try it out for yourself.

Arby's said that they've heard a lot of complaints about the quality of the spice in their sandwiches, especially from competitors like Wendy's, Chick-fil-A. So not terrible. But not-- I'm doing fine. I don't need water right now. So if that's any indication of the spice level. Maybe we can add some more jalapenos next time.
