Video transcript

BRIAN SOZZI: Let's get over to Yahoo Finance's Ines Ferre at the YFi Interactive. Ines.

INES FERRE: And Brian, we're seeing the NASDAQ that's up more than 1 and 1/2%. We're looking at the Dow that's also up more than 1%, and the S&P 500 also higher as well. Looking at the sectors, we're watching financials, which are leading, as well as technology, material stocks. And you've got consumer staples that are lagging right now.

Over on the NASDAQ 100, the semis are doing well. Nvidia up more than 4%. Tesla is up more than 3%. The Chinese ADRs today are seeing a big pop, jd.com, after its quarterly results up, more than 4 and 1/2%. Year to date, though, these Chinese ADRs are still underwater.

And taking a look also at some of the retail stocks, you mentioned a Walmart. I want to show you some of the other stocks that are moving in sympathy with Walmart. You've got Dollar General that's down more than 3 and 1/2%. Also, Kroger is down more than 3 and 1/2%. Dollar Tree and Target are also lower.

And finally, I just want to mention what's happening with energy, oil because we are watching WTI up again more than 1%. Brent crude up as well. Natural gas up more than 4 and 1/2%. And gasoline futures, guys, those settled at a record high yesterday. You've got the national average for gasoline hitting another record today, $4.52 a gallon, up about 50-- almost 50% from a year ago, guys.
