Market check: Dow adds 500+ points as stocks bounce back

Yahoo Finance's Brian Cheung discuss how markets are moving in intraday trading.

Video transcript

BRIAN CHEUNG: Let's take a look at markets as we begin this Tuesday session. You can see right now, green across the board, and deep green at that. You can see the Dow Jones up about 2%. For those of you that like to quote it in points, that's about 600 points. The NASDAQ composite up about 3 and 1/3%, and the S&P 500 up 2 and 3/4%, a big turn from what we saw last week with that deep red day.

If you take a look at what's been going on as far as sectors go in this market, you can see, just right now, at least, everything essentially in the green. XLE, energy, a big winner today, up about 5.5%. And even utilities, one of the laggards, in this particular day, up about 1 and 1/2% as well. So a lot going on.

If we take a look at the NASDAQ, some of the individual stocks that we're watching, essentially green across the board. The big tech stocks getting a lot of that big rebound so far in the morning. Really, the only red stocks so far, take a look at Comcast, just barely below where it ended the day on Friday, and then JD down about 3 and 1/2% as well. So a lot going on, on that front.
