Video transcript

DAVE BRIGGS: All right, just a couple of minutes away from the closing bell and a rough start to this week, early in December. Yahoo Finance's Ines Ferre here to break down the market action. Hi there, Ines. Why are we falling?

INES FERRE: Oh, yeah, we are seeing right now the Dow that's down 470 points. The NASDAQ down 1.9%. The S&P 500 hanging around the 4,000 level. And part of this has to do with the US Dollar Index, as you're seeing, that that has spiked a bit. So this is definitely putting some pressure on assets.

Looking also at the sectors, we have been watching energy stocks that have been the biggest losers today, followed by consumer discretionary and also financials. Over on the NASDAQ 100, as I mentioned, consumer discretionary off. Well, Tesla down more than 6%. Amazon also down more than 3%
