Fisker, Zillow, Seagen, Union Pacific stocks rise after back-to-back losses for S&P 500

Yahoo Finance Live’s Brad Smith discusses Monday's trending tickers, including Fisker, Zillow, Seagen, and Union Pacific.

Video transcript

BRAD SMITH: Let's take a look at some of the trending tickers here, just ahead of the noon hour, headlined by Zillow as we've got them here and the trending tickers list pulled up on our Yahoo Finance Interactive, as well as the zeroing in on some of these main trending tickers that we're tracking. Zillow is up by about 2.3% right now. JPM likes the company's position as the most visited real estate site. It sees solid margins and a, quote, "healthy balance sheet" helping cushion it against continued macro headwinds.

We also see Pfizer and biotech firm Seagen moving here on a Wall Street Journal report that a deal between the companies could be in the works and worth more than $30 billion potentially there, which is essentially the market cap of Seagen right now. So once you slap the premium on top, it would likely take it north of that $30 billion market cap.

And then, additionally here, Union Pacific trending as CEO Lance Fritz plans to step down later this year, some activist pressure certainly weighing on that decision. But then additionally here, as we were taking a look at the Yahoo Finance Interactive just a moment ago, I also saw one company, Fisker, actually leading some of the move in our trending tickers here on the day. It's up 30% here. You're taking a look at the past five days, but that intraday chart here, yeah, wild to the upside there.

And here's why. The company had just reported some of their fourth quarter 2022 results. And one of the things that they did call out, the results reinforce their expectation that at the time of launch, Fisker Ocean will have the longest range of any SUV crossover priced below $70,000 there, so some interesting product insights and announcements there. And Fisker certainly getting a bite here from the Wall Street community. We're seeing that up by about 30%.

And just lastly here, taking a look at some of the major averages here, as we ride out on this the 11:00 AM hour, the Dow, the S&P 500, and the NASDAQ, they're all in positive territory there. You're seeing them hold on to fractional gains across the board, led by the NASDAQ on a percentage basis, up by about 8/10, 9/10 of a percent. The Dow Jones Industrial Average up a quarter of a percent, S&P 500 up by about 1/2% here. And that's going to do it for now, folks. I'm Brad Smith in for Rachelle Akuffo today. And that right there is your 11:00 AM hour. Stay tuned. We've got much more Yahoo Finance. We'll lead you to the closing bell at 3:00 PM.
