- Good morning, Chase Young, defensive end for the Washington Football Team. How are you today?

- I'm good. How are you?

- I am well, thank you. Thank you for joining us. Throughout 2020, COVID notwithstanding, your team dealt with a lot of controversy and adversity. But you all came together in a remarkable way. How did that happen?

- i feel like we just never stopped. And our motto was just keep going. And that's basically what we did all year. Halfway during the year, Coach Rivera had talked about when we were 5 and 1, nobody had us ending number one in the division this year. So it's just something that-- I think we all had motivation just from everything around us. And I felt like that just brought us together.

- You mentioned Coach Rivera, obviously a tumultuous year for him, receiving treatments during halftime. Can you talk about what sort of leader he is?

- Definitely to dude [AUDIO OUT] sure. Coach Rivera is a guy that I look up personally. And I just watch how he walks around, how he talks to people, and just how he carries himself. He's a great representative for that and somebody that I look up to just all the time in general.

- You're certainly wrapping your team in style with the new chain you just had made. When did you decide to reach out to Gabriel The jeweler and why 30 carats?

- Why not? It's definitely something I worked for. And I'm definitely gonna enjoy myself a little bit.

- That piece shines for sure. But it pales in comparison to the rookie year you just put together-- second overall pick, 1 and 1/2 sacks, 4 tackles, and a forced fumble in your debut against a division rival; a trip to the postseason. And you're the front-runner for the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award. How does that feel?

- It's something that I've just been working ever since my college season had ended. I feel like I just had never stopped working. Still the beginning of the season so it's definitely a long time coming just to hear my name involved with that honor. And so I'm excited. If I get it, I get it. If I don't, I don't. But I'm blessed through it all.

- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, you obviously faced them in the wildcard round. And there was a lot made about the exchange between you and Tom Brady. Are you gonna tell me what he said to you after the game?

- That I'm a great player and basically just keep it up. And I had told him that I needed something from him. And he asked me what it was. And I told him, his jersey. So he had send that out to me. It's definitely a jersey that's gonna be on my wall probably for the rest of my life.

- As a Buckeye, how do you like the way he signed it?

- Yeah, I mean, I never lost to that team. So he can say what he want. I never lost to 'em.

- Any predictions for this Sunday's big game?

- I'm just excited to see that offense for the Chiefs and that D-line for the Bucs.

- Can I get an official "I think the Super Bowl winner will be"?

- You know I can't do that. But I'm definitely excited to see P-Homes go at it and obviously big Tom.

- You talked about your college career. We mentioned that you were a buckeye. Your former coach, Urban Meyer, joining the NFL ranks this year, how do you think he's gonna do in Jacksonville?

- Hopefully I get to play him while he's there. That'll be pretty fun. Coach Meyer, he's a-- I look back and I just can see how great of a coach he was. While you're there, you might just not see it. But I feel like when you reflect on things, you can just see it way more clearly after you've been through it.

So I think he's gonna go over there and turn the whole thing around. Because he's a winner and he hates losing. So that's definitely one thing I know about it for sure.

- Chase, you're here with Old Spice Dynasty. It's a new offering that's helping give guys the confidence to smell ready for anything. How's it working out for you?

- Obviously they know everything that's been going on through the season. People's schedules just everywhere. And some guy might feel a little down. But I'm excited to team up with Old Spice and the new Dynasty line. And it definitely smell good. I just put some on. But it's definitely that smell that gives you confidence.

- Thank you so much, Chase. I appreciate you being with me here today. And congratulations on an incredible season. Good luck this weekend for the awards ceremony. And I cannot wait to see what you do in future. As someone who is married to a Washington Football Team fan, thank you for making my house much more hospitable on the weekends.

- Thank you. Thank you.
