Bangkok turns train into COVID isolation center

It comes as daily reported cases in the capital continue to generally trend upwards, according to government data, placing a strain on medical facilities.

Fifteen train cars will initially be converted to take in patients while they wait for space in hospitals, Aswin said in a statement, adding that he hopes the center will be up and running by Friday (July 30).

Thailand recorded 14,150 new virus cases and 118 deaths on Tuesday, bringing the total number of reported cases to 526,828, with 4,264 deaths so far.
