#12 Oregon State Upsets #4 Oklahoma State For A Spot In The Sweet 16

Krysten Peek recaps how #12 Oregon State upset #4 Oklahoma State to get to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1975.

Video transcript

KRYSTEN PEEK: Number 12 Oregon State took down number 4 Oklahoma State 80 to 70 in another upset to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1975. The Pac-12 champs had a comfortable 14-point lead at halftime and held potential number 1 NBA draft pick Cade Cunningham to only 8 points in the first 20 minutes of the game.

Oklahoma State came out fighting in the second half, putting on a full-court press, and cut the lead to 2 points with 11 minutes left in the game. But it was point guard Ethan Thompson who found ways to make impossible shots down the stretch and get to the foul line. Thompson finished with 25 points, with 15 of those points coming from the free throw line. The Beavers also outrebounded the Cowboys 55 to 33 and shot 41% from the field.

Oregon State will face Sister Jean and number 8 Loyola Chicago on Saturday in the Sweet 16.
