FRAMINGHAM, Mass. & PITTSBURG, Calif., October 02, 2024--Ameresco, Inc., (NYSE: AMRC), a leading cleantech integrator specializing in energy efficiency and renewable energy, Republic Services, Inc. (NYSE: RSG) and Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) (NYSE: PCG), today celebrated the ribbon cutting for California’s largest and most resilient landfill gas (LFG) to renewable natural gas (RNG) plant, located at the Keller Canyon Landfill in Pittsburg, CA.
The company said it was monitoring weather conditions across its service territories in California as parts of the state are expected to experience gusty winds, high temperatures and low humidity levels. PG&E initiated a "public safety power shutoff (PSPS)", cutting off power for homes and businesses across Sacramento Valley and surrounding foothills, according to a post on its website.
As California enters peak fire season, the California Fire Foundation (CFF), with support from The PG&E Corporation Foundation (PG&E Foundation), has awarded $750,000 in wildfire safety grants to 55 local fire departments, fire agencies and community groups in Northern and Central California. This is the seventh year CFF and the PG&E Foundation have awarded grants to help communities bolster their disaster preparedness and response programs.
