Smartphone chip giant Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM) wants to lend Arm Holdings a helping hand, according to an article in The Telegraph on Sunday. Qualcomm has offered to invest in Arm Holdings should regulators block a proposed acquisition by NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA). NVIDIA is in the process of buying Arm from tech investment giant SoftBank Group for $40 billion.
NVIDIA's (NVDA) acquisition of DeepMap is expected to enrich its self-driving solutions portfolio by adding the latter's powerful mapping technology to its autonomous operations system, NVIDIA DRIVE.
Qualcomm has revealed its willingness to invest in the UK-based Arm if its acquisition deal with Nvidia fails due to regulatory concerns.
