Alfa Laval has teamed up with Boliden, a Swedish mining and smelting company, to use their Low-Carbon copper to produce heat exchangers. The goal is to have the first heat exchanger made using Boliden's copper ready during 2023. The cooperation will enable Alfa Laval to produce heat exchangers with a reduced carbon footprint. In 2021, Alfa Laval acquired a minority stake in the Netherland-based company Marine Performance Systems (MPS) with an option to acquire the remaining part later. Now Alfa Laval has executed that option and completed the acquisition to own 100 percent of MPS. The closing date for the acquisition was 21 March 2023. MPS' innovative technology significantly reduces the friction from vessels when sailing, resulting in fuel savings.

The investment will go towards increasing production, distribution and service capacity at four existing Alfa Laval sites in Sweden, Italy, China and the US. The decision to increase capacity investment is based on increased demand to support customers in the ongoing global energy transition.
Alfdex AB, a 50/50 joint venture between Alfa Laval and Concentric, has won a contract to supply electric disc separators to a major global truck and bus OEM. The contract further strengthens Alfdex's position as a market leader in disc separator technology. Production is scheduled to start in 2025 and total revenues are expected to exceed SEK 2 billion over the coming 10 years.
