Young dad-to-be’s ‘crushing’ reaction to gender reveal goes viral on TikTok: ‘Red flag … run’
A single mom was “crushed” when she looked back at footage from her baby’s gender reveal party — and now the heartbreaking footage is going viral.
TikToker Bunni (@bunnilicious333) gained over 17 million views, 2 million likes and 5,000 comments after she uploaded her then boyfriend’s reaction to learning they were having a girl.
Sadly, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a dad-to-be grow visibly upset at the news of a daughter — as we saw with the dad who had an “ugly” reaction at his growing family’s gender reveal party.
But Bunni’s video has a surprise ending that comes with an important message, penned by a TikToker in the comments: “who needs a bd [baby daddy] when you have you have mother dearest.”
The video — captioned, “… looking back on these videos the universe sent me a CLEAR message🌈💗 — begins just moments after the couple pop their confetti cannons, revealing they’re expecting a little girl.
Immediately, the baby’s father leaves the frame, while Bunni laughs and jumps up and down with glee.
Seeing her daughter celebrating alone, Bunni’s mom runs into the frame to embrace her. Together, the two twirl and laugh, clearly elated by the news.
Another clip uploaded by Bunni reveals the full extent of the dad-to-be’s reaction.
This video — captioned “The best revenge is doing better without them and making them miss you, although I do miss who you were before I got pregnant…” — got over 2 million views and 3,000 comments.
Thousands of TikTokers shared their reactions to Bunni’s videos in the comments.
“Red flag 🚩 run,” one user warned.
“That’s not a red flag that’s a stop sign with blinking lights,” another user added.
“Misogynism starts before we’re even born,” wrote another user.
“It makes me so sad when I watch these gender reveal videos and the father doesn’t immediately turn to look at the mother in excitement 🥺,” commented a user.
“My daughters father didn’t speak to me for 2 days when we found we were having a girl 🙄,” commiserated another user.
However, other TikTokers chose to appreciate the love between Bunni and her mom, rather than her ex-boyfriend’s upsetting reaction.

“your shared joy with your mom brought tears to my eyes ❤❤,” wrote another user.
Based on the hashtags Bunni included in her caption — #singlemom #lonleypregnancy #babydaddyissues #betteroffalone — it would seem the young mom heeded the red flags and broke up with her baby’s father, much to the delight of TikTok.
