Elvis Presley’s 1976 Harley-Davidson FLH 1200 Electra Glide is going under the hammer, and it’s tipped to rake in up to US$2 million (AU$2.945 million).

Presley purchased the baby blue Harley-Davidson a year before he passed away, and barely used it. So much so, that the bike’s only done around 203 kilometres.

“After purchasing a Harley Davidson Sportster 1000 as a gift, Elvis purchased this customized full dress Harley for himself,” the GWS Auctions sale listing said.

“The motorcycle shows very low, original miles and has retained all of its originality as when it was purchased by Elvis.

“Elvis eventually had the motorcycle delivered to Graceland and it was later sold to a local Harley Davidson dealership. Elvis often gave away his favorite "toys" after a short time of enjoyment, substantiating his lifelong charitable nature.”

Since then, the bike has been on display at the Pioneer Auto Museum in Murdo, South Dakota, and is being auctioned off to raise money.

The sale is set to smash the previous record for a motorcycle sale, which is currently held by a Vincent Black Lightning that sold for US$929,000.
