Here’s what you need to know in finance this morning.

Australian stock market slumped to a two-year low at the close on Monday: tech, health care and financial sectors showing the heaviest losses while hopes for a trade resolution between the US and China continue to dissipate.

Over in the US the story was much the same: Wall Street dropped at the open, led by Apple, financials and healthcare stocks, falling further after its biggest slide since March last week on worries over global growth, the China-US trade war and uncertainty over the Brexit deal.
