Good morning.

Markets: Healthcare stocks forced Wall St down overnight, which is expected to keep the Australian market flat when it opens this morning. SPI200 futures was up 0.1 per cent at 7am Sydney time after the Dow Jones Industrial lost 0.01 per cent, the S&P500 dropped 0.23 per cent, and the NASDAQ went south 0.05 per cent.

Aussie dollar: The Aussie dollar is buying 71.78 US cents at 7:50am Sydney time, down from 71.97 US cents on Wednesday.

Four-day weekend: Easter is here and Yahoo Finance has done the rounds to show you which days the supermarkets, shopping centres and cinemas are open over the public holidays. Don’t get caught short of supplies as you put your feet up.

Register to vote: Today is the final day for eligible citizens to register to vote for the May 18 federal election. You have until 8pm to get yourself on the electoral roll or update your details so that you can have your say in the future of the country.

$10 million fraud: A Perth company announced on the ASX yesterday that it has sacked and reported to police a worker over a stunning $10 million fraud case. The staff member is alleged to have authorised payments to an “invalid supplier” over a period of eight years without anyone noticing.

Hybrid transport, but not as you know it: A helicopter-airplane hybrid thing has been developed for civilian flying and we have the pictures here. The craft can take-off and land straight up and down like a helicopter so needs minimal land space, but once in the year it can fly around like a plane.

Have a great Easter!
