Good morning.

G’day USA: The All Markets Summit has kicked off in New York with Yahoo Finance USA. Can’t make it over to America today? Follow along with our livestream here.

Markets: The ASX is expected to open higher with investors scrutinising US-China trade talks. On Wall Street overnight, the Dow Jones Industrial Average finished up 0.58 per cent, while the S&P 500 was up 0.65 per cent and the Nasdaq Composite was up 0.60 per cent.

Do you work? Entrepreneur and television personality, Bethenny Frankel, has criticised people as being afraid of hard work. Speaking at the Yahoo Finance All Markets Summit, she said that she doesn’t complain and is just “straightforward and cutthroat”.

“Most people don’t work hard … Most people move the papers around the desk metaphorically and think they’re working hard.

Excuse me, this is broken: We’ve all had this experience: you receive a dodgy product only to be told firmly that the store you bought it from doesn’t do refunds. ‘But we can give you a credit,’ they might add chirpily.

Well, turns out you don’t just have to suck it up. According to Australian Consumer Law, there are many more things you’re entitled to. Here’s what you need to know.

Get me out of here: Pointless meetings waste your time, your company’s time and your colleagues’ time. Atlassian futurist, Dom Price, figured this out and cancelled all his meetings with surprising side-effects.

Might need to postpone retirement: If you were hoping to match Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’ wealth just by working, we’ve got some bad news for you: that will take 2.7 million years.

NAB takes on housing affordability: One of Australia’s major banks has put down $2 billion to build affordable and specialist housing, citing a lack of long-term funding options for specialist housing providers.

Have a great day!
