Woolworths slashes prices of 300 winter staples to help reduce household grocery bills
From Wednesday, May 4, Woolworths will be offering more than 300 winter staples at discounted prices to help millions of Australians to save on food and everyday products.
The announcement comes during a time when many households are struggling to pay their bills due to the rising cost of groceries, power and petrol.
Woolies customers can expect to find discounts across winter staples, such as meat, poultry, cheese, soup, potatoes, coffee, and even medication, during the colder months.

Woolworths addresses cost-of-living pressures
Woolworths’ Chief Commercial Officer Paul Harker said that the supermarket’s decision to slash prices across their range comes as their customers feel the pinch.
“We recognise that cost-of-living pressures are being felt by our customers and our team, and it’s important we continue to help them save each time they shop,” said Mr Harker.
He explained that the supermarket giants are not only reducing the prices of more than 300 winter staples, but they’re also introducing over 650 own brand products including flour, sugar, snack foods and other essential items to their Low Price range.
This means that “customers can expect the prices of these products to remain consistent while on the Low Price program”.
The program vows to keep the prices of hundreds of everyday products at low prices.
Dropping prices at this time of year is an annual activity for Woolworths. Last winter the supermarket giant announced savings on over 220 items in-store and online.
