Woolworths clears popular ice cream for 70% off
Woolworths is apparently clearing its stock of Häagen-Dazs ice cream, taking 70 per cent off the normal price this week.
The Woolworths website is showing the Häagen-Dazs vanilla 457mL tub for $2.50 at the moment. Normally the same ice cream costs $11.50.
At this bargain-basement price the treat is selling out fast. A search in the local area around the Yahoo Finance office in Sydney only showed one out of five locations with it still in stock.
Buyers are advised to check stock levels before visiting a store, or order it on Woolworths online.
Häagen-Dazs is a brand of both ice cream and ice cream stores, founded by an American couple in 1961. The name was created as a Danish-sounding brand, even though it's nonsensical in that language.
Woolworths also currently has many items selling for half-price, as part of its weekly sale.
