Woolworths called out over new dad's 'disgusting' find: 'Hard enough'

A frustrated new father on a grocery run with his young bub has called out Woolworths over trolley child seats, calling them "disgusting".

The dad from Victoria shared a photo, showing a close-up of four red trolley infant seats in a horrible state, with the seat in the foreground covered with bird poo from top to bottom and the straps all soiled.

"As a new parent this is disgusting!" the dad sounded off on Facebook.

"It's hard enough to shop with a baby let alone getting to the supermarket to realise you have to carry your child because all of your infant trolleys look like this."

"Would be nice if you could please rectify this issue because I certainly don't think I'm the only parent that is frustrated by this," he added in the caption, indicating that the trolleys in question were at a branch in Wangaratta, Victoria.

Woolworths responds

The supermarket giant was quick to jump in and respond to the post, thanking the young dad for sharing the photo and his disappointing experience at the store.

In the comments, Woolworths let the new dad know that his feedback was sent to the Wangaratta store management team for their "awareness and further investigation."

In a statement to 7 News, Woolworths confirmed that the trolley has since been "cleaned and disinfected".

Shoppers dodging bird droppings

Earlier this month, another shopper shared a photo of a building design flaw at a Woolies store in Melbourne, which showed how the architectural design had allowed a flock of pigeons to sit on the overhang right above the entrance, leaving customers and employees dodging and cleaning bird poo.

The building located in Chelsea is not owned or built by Woolworths, but the company disclosed in an interview with Yahoo News that it was aware of the problem and already had plans to relocate the pigeons.
