Woolworths customer stunned by unexpected surprise in grocery delivery

A Woolworths customer has taken to Facebook to share the “lovely surprise” included with her first online delivery from the supermarket.

The South Australian local praised her local Woolies for welcoming her with a handwritten note and box of Cadbury Favourites chocolates.

“On behalf of the team at Woolworths, thank you for shopping with us for your first online order!” the note read.

The delighted Woolworths shopper said she wanted to share the post to bring some positivity to social media and shine the spotlight on the hardworking staff at supermarkets who have been through some tough times with COVID-19 impacting their jobs.

“With so many people always complaining about Woolworths, and the hard times the store teams have been having to deal with this year, I really wanted to express how nice I thought this gesture was from the team at Woodcroft South Australia,” she wrote on the Woolworths Facebook page on Friday.

A Woolworths worker responded to the Facebook post and said she would share it with her colleagues.

“This is what we strive for. Well done team!,” she wrote.

“That is lovely,” another person commented.

The Woolworths customer said it was her first home delivery with the supermarket and couldn’t be happier with the service.

“What a lovely surprise getting such a nice note and chocolates for my first ever online shop.”

It’s not the first time Woolworths has gone above and beyond for customers. In August, a NSW customer reported getting a birthday note with her delivery after ordering a stack of birthday treats.
