Where did 21 Savage say, ‘He just always in his own world?’

21 Savage is one of the top rappers in the world. He’s a Grammy-winning artist, has over 60 million monthly listeners on Spotify and is set to go on tour with Drake this summer following the release of 2022’s Her Loss. He’s a fan favorite on rap songs everywhere and is now the source of this viral TikTok sound.

Users have taken this sound and applied it to all types of situations — from preparing for fake documentaries to making jokes about silent letters in words. One of the more popular creators that began using this sound was Uli Lepe (@6.0uli). His original sound has nearly 85,000 videos under it.

“How i expect my boys to talk about me on my Netflix documentary when I make it,” said @matiashegg above.

“The other letters in island talking about ‘s,’” wrote @c.waiske in the video above.

Phineas explaining how Ferb was,” said @caine0024 in his video.

This sound is clearly versatile, but where did it come from?

When 21 Savage originally said this, it was during an appearance on the Off the Record with DJ Akademiks podcast. He was speaking about former Migos rapper Takeoff, who passed away in November 2022 at the age of 28.

“He ain’t really in the way… in the mix for real,” he said. “He just always in his own world. He’s really quiet for real unless he know you. He’s funny as hell though. …Every time I see him he’s gonna smile, dap you up and mind his business.”

The podcast episode premiered just a week after Takeoff’s death.

Since then, Internet users have been able to take those words and put positivity and levity behind them.
