Half-price round-up: What Woolworths, Coles are selling for 50% off this week

Each week the two major supermarket chains, Coles and Woolworths, flog certain items at 50 per cent off to lure shoppers into their stores.

The companies can't be making much money out of these heavily discounted items, if not making a loss, but the specials keep customers away from their rivals.

And Woolworths and Coles also bet that the shoppers will end up buying more higher-margin products while they're in the store to pick up the bargains.

Yahoo Finance has done the run-around to list the biggest half-price items on sale this week at both chains, so that you can make an informed choice:
