West Ham have a major chance to kickstart their Champions League qualification ambitions when Everton head to east London today.

The Hammers’ hopes of a Premier League top-four finish have taken a hit of late with injuries to key personnel and defeats to Newcastle and Chelsea, but a 2-1 win at Burnley last week kept them in the fight.

Leicester’s shock 4-2 home defeat to Newcastle on Friday night now means that there could well be two top-four places left to play for during the run-in, with David Moyes’ Hammers three points off a Champions League spot as things stand.

While that Leicester result boosts the Hammers’ hopes, Moyes knows they cannot realistically afford any more slips-ups in the final four games of the season - though Carlo Ancelotti’s Toffees could prove tricky customers on Sunday.

Date, kick-off time and venue

West Ham vs Everton is scheduled for a 4:30pm BST kick-off on Sunday, May 9, 2021.

The match will be held behind closed doors at London Stadium.

West Ham vs Everton team news

Declan Rice is back in training and poised to give West Ham's Champions League push a major boost. The England international has not played since suffering a knee injury at the end of March.

Boss David Moyes is confident Rice will return to play a big role in the run-in and did not rule the 21-year-old out of Sunday's game.

With Michail Antonio back to fitness, and form following his two goals against Burnley on Monday, Moyes is close to having his first-choice side available for the last four matches.

As for Everton, Carlo Ancelotti will welcome back "surprise" package Abdoulaye Doucoure. The Frenchman has missed eight matches with a fractured bone in his foot and the Toffees have won just once during that spell.

There is less positive news on James Rodriguez who, after pulling out of the warm-up ahead of last weekend's defeat to Aston Villa, will not be fit for Sunday's trip to London.

West Ham vs Everton prediction

The Hammers know this game is likely win or bust for their top four hopes, and will attack it as such.

As for the Toffees, it’s be a curious season. Given some big performances, they should be all rights be among the top-four contenders - but abject defeats elsewhere have cost them.

With West Ham having more to play for, expect a tight home win.
