Week 15's top NFL game: Chiefs vs. Saints

Yahoo Sports NFL senior writers Charles Robinson and Terez Paylor select a Week 15 game that will leave us buzzing into Monday.

Kansas City Chiefs at New Orleans Saints

Drew Brees or not, I want to see how New Orleans handles the Kansas City offense. The Saints have the ability to field the most consistent defense in the NFC. If they can’t figure out a way to handle the Chiefs, the NFC might as well cash it in if Kansas City rolls to the Super Bowl again.

The bottom line: The Saints have to show a top-level NFC defense has a plan that can work against Mahomes and company.

This may be a preview of Super Bowl LV.

We've got Patrick Mahomes and the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs vs. Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. Both teams are fighting for the No. 1 spot in their conference and with it, home-field advantage and a first-round bye.

Expect both teams to come out firing. Saints coach Sean Payton and Chiefs coach Andy Reid could easily call their best stuff for this one, not unlike the epic Saints-49ers clash last December, making this a possible game of the year contender. And don’t give me any stuff about these teams potentially holding stuff back in this one in case they meet in the Super Bowl, either. If that was the case, there would be no reason for Brees to return so soon from — *check notes* — 11 broken ribs and a collapsed lung.
