Virgin slashes airfares to Queensland: Flights from $49

Escape to the Gold Coast, the Whitsundays and more, with Virgin Australia’s latest flight sale.

Virgin Australia has slashed the prices on 300,000 airfares to some of Queensland's most iconic holiday destinations.

The airline has teamed up with the Queensland government to offer the flight deals, which start from as little as $49 one-way.

More than 30 routes have been included in the sale, with travel dates ranging from October 2023 to June 2024.

Sydneysiders can escape to the Gold Coast for as low as $49 one-way, while Melburnians can soak up the warm weather on the Sunshine Coast for $75 one-way.

There are also deals on offer for Queenslanders, including flights from Brisbane to the Whitsundays for $59 one-way, and Brisbane to Cairns from $69 one-way.

Acting Premier Steven Miles said Queensland was calling Aussies and Kiwis to come and enjoy the Sunshine State.

“Whether it’s snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, walking through a world-heritage rainforest, experiencing the outback or enjoying a meal or drink at one of Queensland’s best venues, it's easy to see why Queensland is Australia’s favourite destination,” Miles said.

Virgin’s ‘Queensland is Calling’ flight sale is running now until Sunday, September 10, unless sold out prior.

Prices are based on one-way Economy Lite fares. Seat select and checked baggage are not included.
