Yahoo Finance Vikings trade WR Stefon Diggs to Buffalo Bills
Stefon Diggs finally got his wish. It just took longer than expected.
Diggs, the Minnesota Vikings receiver who was reportedly displeased with the team and its offense during a slow start last season, was traded to the Buffalo Bills on Monday, according to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer.
Diggs didn’t come cheap. According to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, the Vikings shipped Diggs and a seventh-round pick to Buffalo for a first-round pick, a fifth-round pick, a sixth-round pick and a fourth-round pick in 2021.
Diggs alerted the NFL world to the move with a cryptic tweet on Monday afternoon.

No trades can be official until the league year begins on Wednesday. But barring something unforeseen, Diggs is moving on to Buffalo.
Stefon Diggs voiced displeasure
Diggs wasn’t happy early last season. He wouldn’t deny he wanted to be traded. Then the Vikings started playing better and the friction was mostly forgotten about.
Still, the seeds were apparently planted. Diggs has been part of trade speculation for most of the offseason, so it wasn’t a big shock when Minnesota moved him. The NFL could have a very active trade market over the next few weeks. DeAndre Hopkins and David Johnson were traded for each other on Monday, and plenty of players who got the franchise tag could be shopped in tag-and-trade scenarios.
Diggs put up a career-best 1,130 yards last season, on a 17.9-yard average that far surpassed his career high. He is a fantastic talent. Things just went sideways with the Vikings, leading to the move.
Bills get much-needed playmaker
The Bills made strides last season, making the playoffs as a wild-card team after challenging the Patriots in the AFC East. The one missing piece was a top-end playmaker in the passing game.
The Bills gave up a lot of draft picks to acquire Diggs, but Diggs is a true No. 1 who can grow with quarterback Josh Allen. The Bills clearly feel they’re one big piece away, and perhaps Diggs is that piece.
Another big-time move came the same night for the Bills, as they reportedly agreed to a three-year deal with Carolina Panthers defensive end Mario Addison. The move will add a pass-rusher who has averaged nearly 10 sacks a season over the last four years to a unit that ranked 12th in the league in sacks last season with 44.
There were some blockbuster moves across the NFL on Monday, and the Bills made sure they filled their biggest offseason needs.
