The truth behind Harry and Meghan's secret wedding revealed

The day after Harry and Meghan delivered on one of the world's most anticipated tell-alls on the royal family to Oprah Winfrey many of the claims and comments are coming under the microscope of fact-checkers, and one explosive reveal dropped by the Duchess of Sussex has a little more to it than we first thought.

Meghan claimed early in the sit down with Oprah that ahead of the fanfare and aplomb of the royal wedding she and Harry snuck away to be married in secret days before the official event.

“Three days before our wedding we got married," she told the talk show host. "The vows we have framed."

“We called the Archbishop, and we just said, ’Look, this thing, this spectacle is for the world, but we want our union between us.”

It turns out that while the pair did seem to have said their vows ahead of time, the 'first' wedding was not in any way official.

According to The Telegraph, sources from the Sussex camp and the Chruch of England clarified that the ceremony held in the garden of Nottingham Cottage, the pair's home at the time, was symbolic only.

“It was a small thing but something they were keen to do between themselves,” a source was quoted. “They exchanged their vows before the Archbishop in a personal, private ceremony but their official marriage was very much on the day of the royal wedding.”

Chruch of England rules mandate that a marriage ceremony needs to occur in a church or a venue with a specific license and must be held in front of two witnesses.

The clarification comes after Meghan and Hary left the world reeling with their incredibly frank, and often scathing account of their lives as senior members of the royal family, and the fallout that occurred when they left their positions.

This morning it was revealed in unseen footage from the interview that after the pair left the roles, Harry was brutally snubbed by the Queen in a revealing moment that exposed how little say she allegedly has over her own schedule.

Among the most jaw-dropping claims were that the duo was financially 'cut off' by the royal family after Megxit, that while Meghan was pregnant one royal expressed concerns over 'how dark' Archie's skin would be, and that the pressures and control she felt under while a working royal lead Meghan to a place where she 'didn't want to live'.

In lighter revelations, they also disclosed that they are expecting a baby girl.
