Trace your little ones’ feet for the ultimate shoe shopping hack

Thanks to this TikTok mom’s shoe shopping hack, you can easily buy your child’s correct shoe size without having to bring them to the store to try on shoes!

TikTok account Crafty Moms (@craftymoms) is known for videos featuring clever hacks and DIY projects for parents and kids alike. One of their videos features a clever hack for shopping for kid’s shoes, and it’s a total game changer for parents who are shopping without their children.

Taking a long flight home for the holidays? Here are some hacks to make your journey bearable

All you need for this hack is paper, a pencil, and scissors. The filmer begins by having their child place one foot on a piece of paper and then tracing the outline of their foot onto the paper.

Next, they cut out the stencil, neatly fold it in their bag, and head to the shoe store. While shopping, they measure the template against the soles of various shoes before finding one that fits.

In addition to easily finding the correct size, you won’t have to worry about temper tantrums from little ones who are sick of trying on shoes.

Viewers took to the comments to express their excitement for the smart shoe shopping trick.

“Why is this the easiest thing ever, and I’ve never thought of it in 8 years of parenting?” asked one parent rhetorically.

“Thank you! My son hates clothes shopping. This will help so much,” one grateful parent said.

Others were quick to point out that, while effective, this hack isn’t new.

“People have been doing this for decades to purchase shoes for family members overseas in developing countries,” informed one user.

“That’s how we used to send our shoe sizes to my aunt in New York when we lived in Jamaica,” shared one viewer.

“My mom did that back in the 60s for my aunt so she could send me the right size shoes. Not new to me,” one user mentioned.

While this hack may not be new, it clearly stands the test of time.
