The most important skills and characteristics for future careers will be based around creativity, relationships and expertise.

Therefore, these are the employment sectors which are expected to thrive in 2030, and beyond.

Web and human interface designer
As machines become more prevalent in the everyday lives of Australians, the requirement for skilled interface designers, and web designers, will be in high demand and robots are likely to lack the emotional skill needed to understand how people relate to machinery.
Allied health professional
Australia’s growing elderly population and the aging baby boom generation will create greater demand for health services.

Allied health professionals is a term used to describe the broad range of health professionals who are not doctors, dentists or nurses but instead work within a health team to help prevent, diagnose and treat illnesses.
While doctors, dentists and nurses are essential roles for the future Australia, demand for allied health professionals will grow in line with the population.
Aged care worker
Similarly, the growing elderly population will put increased demand on aged care workers.
Fitness and nutrition professional
The Australian government’s effort to encourage Australians to adopt a healthier lifestyle also supports job growth in the fitness industry.
