T.J. Warren out indefinitely due to stress fracture in foot

Indiana Pacers forward T.J. Warren won’t be able to build off his bubble breakout for some time. Warren is out indefinitely due to a stress fracture in his foot, the team announced Thursday.

Warren will undergo surgery to repair the issue. The Pacers said they will provide updates on Warren’s injury “as warranted.”

In four games, Warren averaged 15.5 points and 3.5 rebounds. He played a key role in the team jumping out to a 4-1 start.

T.J. Warren performed well in Orlando bubble

While Warren has been an effective player throughout his career, he took things to another level in the Orlando bubble. In six games, Warren averaged 31 points and 6.3 rebounds. While Warren’s performance was elevated by a 53-point game, he dropped at least 30 points in four of six games in the Orlando bubble.

Because of that, some fans were eager to see whether Warren could carry over that success into the 2020-21 NBA season. Any chance of Warren building on his bubble performance will be delayed until he recovers from surgery.
