Yahoo Finance Titans, Patriots reportedly have no new positive tests Friday
After an unsettling wave of positive COVID-19 tests with the Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots, both teams reportedly got good news Friday.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, neither team had any new positive COVID-19 tests.

All the Patriots’ overnight pcr tests came back negative this morning, per source. For now it appears their protocols have worked. Game is on track for Monday night vs. Denver Broncos.

What it means for the Patriots
The Patriots also had good news on Wednesday, with zero positive PCR tests, so it appears all systems are go on the NFL’s revised schedule for Week 5. They appear one step closer to being able to host the Denver Broncos on Monday evening.
New England was hit with two big stars landing on the COVID-reserve list — quarterback Cam Newton and cornerback Stephon Gilmore — before and after the Week 4 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Newton sat out New England’s 26-10 loss, while Gilmore said he tested positive for the coronavirus after the game.
It’s unclear whether either of them will play against Denver.
The Patriots’ only other player on the COVID-reserve list is practice squad defensive lineman Bill Murray, so they appear to have contained the spread better than the Titans.
But it also has cramped New England’s ability to prep for the Denver game, as they canceled Friday’s practice and will conduct virtual meetings.
What it means for the Titans
The Titans also are moving in a positive direction toward being able to play the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday, even though their hurdle appears larger.
There were a total of 23 positive tests in Tennessee, which initially caused the rescheduling of their Week 4 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Even if the Titans are able to get in Tuesday’s game, they’re likely not out of the woods.
Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson has reported that they still face serious repercussions from the NFL — which could even include a game forfeiture — for their violations of the league’s COVID-19 protocols.
