Popular TikToker films moment he saved teen from 'weird' man in mall: 'It was so creepy'

A man filmed himself allegedly rescuing of a teen girl from a “weird” man — and then uploaded it to TikTok as PSA.

The viral video showed how the TikToker stepped in to help a stranger who he said seemed to be in an uncomfortable situation.

Brandon Robert told In The Know he was walking through a mall when he noticed an interaction that made him stop.

“I noticed an older man hitting on a very young girl, she was around 19 years old,” Robert said. “You could tell just by her face she was quite frightened.”

Robert watched the pair and decided the girl looked too uncomfortable for him not to intervene. He pulled out his phone and started recording as he walked over, as he was also a little concerned about the man’s behavior and wanted to be safe.

His clip chronicling the ordeal has racked up over 33 million views.

“At first I was a little scared by his behavior, so for my safety, I pulled out my camera as most people do in odd situations,” he explained. “Thankfully the man didn’t try to talk or touch me.”

“Oh my god, hi,” Robert says in the video, talking to the girl. “How are you?”

The girl seems to catch on immediately and acts like she knows him.

“My aunt is here, do you want to —,” Robert asks, trying to give the girl an out to leave.

“Aunt Claire?” the girl replies. “Let’s go.”

Robert and the girl were able safely to leave the situation. Robert’s tactic is very helpful for people — particularly young people — who feel trapped in an uncomfortable situation with a stranger and feel as though they have no way to safely leave.

“Oh my god, thank you so much,” the girl can be heard saying to Robert as they walk away.

“What was he saying?” Robert asks.

“He asked if I want to go back to his place,” the girl replies. “It was so creepy … thank you for helping me.”

“I walked her out of the store and to her car,” Robert added to In The Know. “I thought [a video] like this would show that these things do happen and how people can help.”

The comment section was filled with TikTokers thanking Robert for his actions and for spreading awareness as to how others can help people they think are in distress.

“Thank you for stepping in,” one commenter wrote.

“I can’t imagine what could have happened to her if you didn’t do something when you noticed something was off,” another added. “Thank you.”
