According to reports, Lamu suffered burns to 90 per cent of her body and died in hospital on September 30.

Lamu and her ex-husband had two sons aged just 12 and three. The influencers’s brother-in-law – who married Lamu’s sister – told Beijing Youth Daily his wife had told him the ex-husband would beat Lamu.

Tang was detained on the suspicion of “intentional homicide” and police said in a statement they were continuing to investigate the death.

On September 30, police confirmed Lamu died after treatment failed.
