Three men die after boat capsizes south of Sydney

Three men have died after a boat capsized south of Sydney.

Emergency crews were called to Henry Head Lane at La Perouse just after 12.30pm on Sunday following reports a boat had capsized near the lighthouse, police said.

Three men were retrieved from the water but they died at the scene.

A Westpac Rescue Helicopter and a Toll NSW Ambulance Rescue Helicopter were called to the scene and “pulled multiple persons from [a] capsized boat”, according to a tweet.

The victims have not been formally identified.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command are at the scene and an investigation into the incident is underway.

It’s not believed any other occupants were on board, however the search operation is continuing.
