Thomas Tuchel is bringing his trusted backroom staff with him to Chelsea, with assistant Arno Michels and coach Zsolt Low set to join him at Stamford Bridge.

It is a show of faith from club owner Roman Abramovich to invest in an overhaul of the coaching set-up, as well as the new manager.

Chelsea are set to confirm the new line-up, but Tuchel has worked closely with a trusted inner circle in previous roles at Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund.

Michels is his long-standing assistant, having met Tuchel while the pair were taking their coaching qualifications, while Low impressed him during their time together at PSG.

Other members of his close-knit team in the past are adviser Philipp Schleb, who holds a similar role to Pep Guardiola’s close confidant Manuel Estiarte, set-piece specialist Zoumana Camara, fitness coach Rainer Schrey and video analyst Benjamin Weber.

A number of Frank Lampard’s backroom team are still listed by the club, including Joe Edwards, Anthony Barry, Henrique Hilario, Matt Birnie and Will Tullett, some of whom were pictured during Tuchel’s first training session last night.
