Last year’s Federal Budget provided us with a satirical goldmine on social media.
I mean, Joe Hockey and Mathias Cormann smoking cigars post Budget – that’s a lay up for even the most untalented of meme-makers.
On Twitter in particular, Australians vented their frustration, broadcast their criticism and flaunted some very dodgy Paint skills.

The government’s $7 GP co-payment, fuel levy and the deficit levy all received a good public lashing.
Then the online world stepped it up a notch with the hashtag #threewordbudget, which subsequently went viral.
