We tested this DIY all-natural scrub to see if it really plumps lips

The cold weather is here and if you’ve been dealing with chronically chapped lips, you’re probably willing to try anything at this point.

Fortunately, TikTok has got all kinds of beauty tips and secrets. In The Know’s Phoebe Zaslav tested this hack for a lip plumping scrub made with all-natural ingredients. Huda Kattan, the guru behind Huda Beauty, dropped this hack on TikTok last December.

“I love to experiment with natural ways to make your lips look a little bit more full,” Phoebe said. “And my lips are constantly dry, so kill two birds with one stone.”

What You’ll Need:

  • 2 teaspoons of brown sugar.

  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.

  • 1 teaspoon of nutmeg.

  • 2 teaspoons of honey.

  • 2 teaspoons coconut oil.

“The process is really easy you’re just going to dump everything in a bowl and mix it up,” Phoebe said.

She didn’t have a lipgloss container, so Phoebe got creative and used the metal lid of her cocktail shaker.

Phoebe applied the scrub onto her lips using a q-tip. Then she let the scrub sit on her lips for a few minutes.

“Not sure if they look more full. Yeah, I don’t know if the plump thing worked for me. I definitely feel like a tingling sensation on my lips but I don’t think that it made them more plump,” she said.

However, there were a few benefits to the ingredients in the scrub.

“If anything, my lips definitely feel more moisturized from the coconut oil and it even tinted it a little bit and I’m kind of into it,” Phoebe said. “Either way I love the exfoliant and I definitely feel like I treated myself today.”
